The Atomic Cafe
85 minutes (12) 1982 Academy
Directed by Kevin Rafferty, Jane Loader, Pierce Rafferty
review by Peter Schilling

From the flight of the Enola Gay to US government Cold War propaganda, from conception to catastrophe, The Atomic Cafe runs the gamut of drama-documentary themes about nukes and the postmodern mythology which surrounds the power of the atom. It's philosophical and outrageous, disturbingly satirical, bewildering and nostalgic, ridiculous and horrific. Probably the definitive film about the Bomb.
