John Cale, Hannibal HNCD 1407
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the movies! Seriously,
this is quite a landmark in musical terms as Cale, and his old onetime
mentor, Andy Warhol got together and scored the music for two of Andy's
films. I guess it would be a bit of an overstatement to say that both these
films are called Eat, and Kiss respectively? Alongside Cale, there was B.J.
Cole, Maureen Tucker and the Soldier String Quartet who recorded both tracks
live in 1995 at Lille in France. At times it's a little heavy going, but
hell, some things don't change, and a combination with the likes of these
two after so long, well, something has to be different.
