DOWSE Guide to the
Movies
I've no doubt you all know about the film, the so-called sequel to Escape From New
York? Well, here we have the album, although out of the 14 tracks, six of them
didn't even appear in the film! Work that out... Besides that little discrepancy,
however, there's a very interesting cross section of bands and artists appearing:
CIV, Deftones, Butthole Surfers, Toadies, White Zombie and Stabbing Westward.
Actually, for a so-called major film, it contains perhaps the best selection of
Indie bands there is. The only 'famous' people on here are Tori Amos and Ministry.
Regardless of your ethics about the sequel, or even the original, the album's not a
bad harvest. review by Dave W. Hughes
