DOWSE Guide to the
Movies
As well as boatloads of 'Pistols stuff on here, you'll also get material that is/was
vindictive of the times (and earlier). Most of the Bollocks' albums here as well as a
couple or three covers of 'classic' songs such as Substitute, Wotcha Gonna Do About It
and Road Runner. The other, original material is from artists such as Sailor, Alice
Cooper, David Bowie, The Who, New York Dolls, Ten Pole Tudor, and (God knows why) The
Bay City Rollers! There's a total of thirty two songs, spread as 16 tracks per album
(yep, s'double) and with the addition of Tappa Zukie's Way Over (Dub) it brings back
memories of a time that was both exciting and rather sad (many bands were classed as
dinosaurs even before they got going). I know that the Pistols have been done to death,
for not only did we get the original Bollocks album, we also got Kiss This, and if I'm
not mistaken, has most of their material, and, like I've said, there's some good stuff
from other folks as well. The Filth And The Fury is, I believe, a film, although
what it's about I have no idea. review by Dave W. Hughes
