This is the sort of collection that Classic FM loves so much - lots of short
classical excerpts that can fit neatly between the commercials. The theme
here is films, naturally, and the classical music that can be heard in many
recent movies - including, Jean De Florette, The Piano, Philadelphia,
Out Of Africa, Pretty Woman, Amadeus, Schindler's List,
Predator, Platoon and many more.
The music includes excerpts from Verdi's 'La Force Du Destin', Brahms
'Intermezzo', Barber's 'Adagio', Beethoven's 'Ode To Joy' and Puccini's 'Madame
Butterfly'. In total the two CDs contain 26 tracks spread over 152 minutes,
so pretty good value, especially as the performers all come from EMI's
premier list of artists.
