DOWSE Guide to the
Movies
Whilst it has to be admitted, the majority of new films all have their own soundtrack
album release, there are still a lot of 'classic' slabs of music from the older ones.
This double selection of two shiny things offers up quite a wide and diverse pot
pourri of goodies to either set your memories churning or your mind a-wandering. Quite
a few of the tracks are from the latter James Bond period: Louis Armstrong, Sheena
Easton, Duran Duran, A-Ha and Gladys Knight all strut their Bond stuff. Rather than
concentrate on who sings what, I'll just briefly go over some of the films that are
featured - that way at least you can check out the album for yourself and see if what
you thought was on is in fact on (d'ya follow that?). Footloose, Quadrophenia,
Reservoir Dogs, Young Guns II, Saturday Night Fever, Ghost,
Mannequin, The Breakfast Club, Young Americans, Tommy,
Beverly Hills Cop, Back To The Future... I could go on for a lot longer,
but why don't you just check the album out yourself? review by Dave W. Hughes
