I know I've classed this album as various, but to be fair, there's only Dave Arnold,
Scott Walker and Garbage that appear on this new James Bond soundtrack album. Garbage,
as you should be well aware by now, have had recent success with the title track (and
quite a tasty little video). Many from the old school of soundtracks and the world of
film, have all agreed that the natural successor to John Barry is David Arnold. One
thing is certain, Arnold has definitely retained a certain Barryness to his
compositions - a credible advantage when you're stepping into the shoes of someone
who's probably as well known as Bond himself. The album kicks off with the aforesaid
Garbage number. We then dive headlong into a gluttony of Arnold numbers, such as Ice
Bandits, Remember Pleasure, Caviar Factory, and Pipeline. All are typical Bond
soundscapes. The penultimate track on the album is by one Scott Walker, Only Myself To
Blame. There's also (tucked in right at the end) a US movie Trailer, so there you
go!
