is my favorite. I seem to recall convincing a young Albanian dwarf
to cut my hair on Fifth Avenue in exchange for some conterfeit dinars
and a plastic hot dog. Then, at the Book Fair, I raised my hands
and proudly made Eric shrink to one-third his height, to his wife's
delight. Notice how, behind me, I managed to conjure a phalanx of
black jackets. For my eventual conquest of the island of Manhattan,
conducting the alchemical properties of faux leather. Next winter.
Just you wait... And what do I have in my bag? Perhaps it's a signed
copy of the Vandermeer/Schaller classic, "The Exchange." Or perhaps
it's the pickled head of Colin Pink. You will never know. Seriously,
though, it was wonderful meeting y'all, despite the harsh, cruel
commentaries of Jessica's camera. :) To many more meetings in the
future.
