We want your use of dowse to be as beneficial to you as possible. It's not a perfect world, though, and as with any web site on the world wide web the possibility always exists that you may inadvertently reach material unknown to us and which you may find offensive. While we take every effort to avoid a route from here via other web sites to such material, we clearly cannot be held responsible for links at other sites, over which we have no control. Please inform us at once of any sites reached which contain links to offensive sites and we will remove them from dowse if appropriate. Dowse.com does not collect email addresses or personally identifiable information from its visitors and users. Exceptions may be if you email us first (for example making an enquiry or requesting a link exchange) in which case we may keep your name and email address in our records for future reference or use regarding the reasons for your contacting us.

We do not send out unsolicited email.

It is possible that we may from time to time email the webmasters of relevant and related sites for business or administrative purposes, for example to discuss exchanging links.

We use Google, as a third party advertising company, to serve ads on dowse.com. Google uses cookies when serving these ads. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our visitors based on their visit to dowse and to other sites on the Internet. Terms of use for Dowse.com free email service [This service now discontinued]

In what follows, visitors signing up for an email account will be referred to as "users", and the free email service @dowse.com will be referred to as "the service" or as "dowse email accounts".

In signing up for free email at Dowse.com i.e. the service, the user and/or users agrees to the following:

a) We do not usually allow users to have more than one email account and extra accounts will be deleted. If you have a legitimate reason for wanting more than one account please email us.

b) We do not sanction or allow dowse email accounts to be used for mass mailings (spam) nor for any other anti-social activities. Such accounts will be deleted.

c) User names for email (e.g. username@dowse.com) may not be used if they may give the impression that the sender of the email is part of the Dowse management or organisation, if this is not the case. Examples of addresses which would not be acceptable under this criterion: webdesign@dowse.com, accounts@dowse.com. However, Peteswebdesign@dowse.com would be acceptable.

d) We retain at our sole discretion the right to cancel any dowse email accounts at any time without explanation.

e) As dowse email accounts are powered by Everyone.net, Dowse.com, its owner, webmaster and contributors cannot be held responsible for loss of or interruptions to the service, these factors being outside our control.

f) Everyone.net and Dowse.com have the right to place advertisments on web pages associated with the service.

g) Dowse.com, its owner, its webmaster and its contributors cannot be held responsible for the content of any messages transmitted through the service.

h) The service (e.g. you@dowse.com) is powered by Everyone.net. User of our dowse email accounts agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless, dowse.com and its owner, webmaster and its contributors or any entity jointly created by them and their respective affiliates against any claims, liabilities, losses, costs, damages or all expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from the user's use of or participation in the service or the information contained thereon. User should also reference the terms and conditions of Everyone.net

i) These terms and conditions should not be regarded as exclusive of other terms and conditions pertaining to the service. We have the right to change the terms and conditions posted here at any time and it is the responsibility of users to check back here in order to acquaint themselves of updates.
