Security-Zone Alarm Pro
I've been trying out a lite version of this for a month or so and found
it pretty useful. It has warned me a couple of times when another computer
somewhere else has tried to infiltrate my computer, and it also asks me
if I will allow programs that are on my computer to access the internet
when these programs try to do so (many programs try to do this, and usually
succeed without their computer's owner ever knowing, unless something
like Zone Alarm warns the computer owner). If you are concerned about
the security of your computer and the information on it this is worth
looking at. (Don't know how it compares with the OptOut program described
above, or whether they overlap in what they do).

Netcraft
Find out what kind of server, etc., particular sites are running. Plus
many web security issues.
